inexpensive honeymoons
sparklebugjewelry asked:

I am looking for an inexpensive honeymoon for the first week in April. I have a budget for no more than 1000.00. and we have to stay in the states because we dont have our passports. Ideas?

With a $1000 budget, I’d go somewhere you can drive to so you don’t waste half your budget on plane tickets. Where do you live?

You can find a nice hotel with a spa and a pool and good restaurants.

If you really want to fly somewhere, I’d suggest the Florida Keys, b/c it’ll be warm in April, and you won’t need a passport but it will feel tropical.

I saw your last question and you are in San Antonio. There are so many great places to go in Texas alone, but what about New Orleans? In April there is a Jazz festival and a French Quarter festival

you might just get a travel guide for your state and the ones surrounding you and see what things are right in your own backyard.

It is the “off peak season” now in the coastal area (Gulf Of Mexico). If you don’t go to a pricey hotel you should have a great time. It will be plenty warm for you to have fun on the sand. If you are a water person I would not get in the ocean as it is not warm enough. Try a place with an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi for that. Most hotels that have this option have Inn and Suites in their names.

There are tons of places to go. Best way to give you advice is to know where you are starting out from. You can email me at

I’d suggest a weekend at a bed & breakfasts. After all, you don’t have to travel far to get remote and have a great w/e.

Those sites are great for helping you find a bed and breakfasts. You’ll get breakfast each morning included, and many offer honeymoon packages. You can hike, go horseback riding, tour wineries, canoe on a river. Just pick your area and you can search for attractions nearby.

$1,000 is definitely do-able if you stick reasonably close to home. Plan on $100 a night accommedations and $100 a day in stuff to do. Bring some items from home for lunch–like peanut butter and banana to make sandwiches and trail mix. That way you won’t have to buy lunches.

Las Vegas sounds cheesy but can be very romantic even if u r not into gambling. Key West and Naples is another good choice considering u cant leave the US.
