How far are you willing to travel? If you’re on the west coast (specifically in CA), then I might recommend Catalina Island.
My husband and I spent 3 days there in the off season (January) and it was like we had the entire island to ourselves!!! It was marvelous. And the bonus was that since it WAS the off season, things were at super-CHEAP rates.
Depending on your location, you could rent a little cabin in the woods or nearby mountains. They’re usually pretty inexpensive. It can still be romantic too because you can sit by the campfire, go on hikes together, etc.
Kashmir, India. Beautiful place and very cheap! enjoy ur honeymoon!!!
Try looking at smaller resorts that you could visit for a short time. Try the A B C islands that are off the coast of Venezuela. I found a really cute place that was an all inclusive resort on Curacao for about $3,000 for a full week in pretty much the heart of the season. So i’m sure they can go a lot cheaper.
I ended up booking with Sandals in St. Lucia which can get pretty pricey, but when you’re dealing with an all inclusive place i feel it ends up being a deal generally. Especially if you’re a drinker. All the bars, restaurants, water sports, land sports, etc are included. So you could find a cheap hotel anywhere but the catch is are you going to spend a ton at the bar and getting every meal? And are you going to feel safe.
Part of my biggest concern with a smaller/cheaper place was if you’re traveling out of the US than you run the risk of bad water and so on.
So if i were you i’d go to a larger travel agent chain (i went to Liberty Travel) and talk to a travel agent. Tell them how much you’re looking to spend and what they suggest.
I’m not sure where you live, but check out some nearby Bed & Breakfasts. They’re always romantic.
It’s hard to give any good advice without knowing where you are located. The florida keys is inexpensive. Las Vegas you can find a good deal!!
Try Washington D.C. Accommodations will probably be the most expensive thing–there are lots of nice hotels and bed-and-breakfasts to choose from. There are lots of things to do in D.C., most of which are free. Consider visiting some of the Smithsonian museums, the National Gallery of Art, the International Spy Museum. I would suggest pulling out a travel book and at least browsing through it to check out your options….
I’m getting married in June. We will spend our honeymoon in southwest Colorado. You can find secluded cabins, B&Bs, lodges, inns all very accomodating to your needs. For recreation this time of the year you can still find some areas with snow, but we will be enjoying some water sports as well as sight seeing and balloon festivals. We’re also planning to get in some trout fishing. To each his own. If you get to Pagosa Springs, don’t miss the hot springs!! Congratulations and wherever you go..Enjoy!
Disneyland/world. It isn’t as expensive as you may think. There are lots of deals for all the other attractions and theme parks as well. My husband and I had a blast going to the different themeparks during the day then just lazing around the pool in the evenings.
Or you could go camping. Rent a cabin at a lake and got boating, hiking etc. That would be pretty romantic.
