Niagra falls is absolutely beautiful, and there are plenty of places where you can rent cabins, and there are some resort type places that are close to the falls. If you’re going for romance, then if its possible, stay on the Canada side. It isnt too awful far away from Erie, but its another country, so you’ll still get the feeling of traveling. Down around philly has some gorgeous little bed and breakfast type places, and there are some very nice romantic getaway places all down along the Eastern Shore. Baltimore can be a very romantic place if you do it right. Washington DC can be AMAZING! (that is my favorite place on earth.) Also, if you and the Mrs. are outdoorsy types, go rent a cabin in the Poconos. There are some nice romantic resorts (couples only) there too but they can get pretty expensive. I lived in that area (southern PA, MD, DE, eastern shore area) my whole life until we got orders here,if you want any more detailed help, feel free to email me! I work for a travel agency, im too far to actually plan your trip, but I could give you ideas and prices and phone numbers and stuff if you’d like.

I’m recommending the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
Beautiful scenery, stunning views and lots of good old New England sightseeing to do.
You can get very cheap/reasonable accommodations. Log cabins etc.
Its within a reasonable distance to drive, and well worth it.

I don’t know how “inexpensive” you’re looking to go. I am going to an all-inclusive resort in Dominican Republic for 10 nights…it’s $1,200 for the two of us. All food, drinks, and entertainment is included. I think that’s a pretty good deal. (Not so much with the plane tickets, though–$1500)

They have resorts everywhere. I just looked for the cheapest warm-weather location :)

What about the Poconos? I believe that’s a pretty popular honeymoon spot and it’s in PA. You could also drive to NYC and do a week in the city :-) Or the Jersey shore…
